Navigators Move Cargo from Nhava Sheva to Jebel Ali surmounting Lockdown challenges

Lockdown and the related restrictions pose great many challenges for the Cargo movement and the freight industry. The matter becomes worse when the story originates from a city like Mumbai, which has already reported a substantial increase in the number of Covid- 19 cases in the last few months.

Navigators Shipping & Logistica L.L.C recently undertook the movement of OOG cargo from Mumbai to Jebel Ali, as part of a Pipeline Replacement Project. The team which was assigned with the project execution was well aware of the situation at both ends and scheduled the move as meticulously as they could to overcome the impending challenges during the move.

The 61 CBM cargo weighing 17644.26 KG had to be transferred from the city limits of Mumbai to the Nhava Sheva port area first, before its seaward journey commenced.

“This project gave us the opportunity to realize more on crisis management during cargo movement, and how to overcome such situation, which is a great learning in life. Each moment you have a new challenge and you discuss with the team and find out a solution, sometimes refer internet.” Commented the Navigator’s team head with a beaming smile.

The pandemic situation has terribly struck the market. The manpower availability posed the greatest challenge. Due to many reasons, the cargo had to be moved to the port CFS for stuffing and lashing. The second biggest challenge was the lack of equipment and operators. The team at Mumbai, managed to finally organize equipment including trailers with great difficulty. The Cargo was moved to the port CFS and after completing the stuffing and lashing procedures, loaded on to a 40-foot Flat Rack for its sailing to the destination at Jebel Ali.

Navigators Shipping and Logistica L.L.C, management and staff expressed their highest level of gratitude to all those who have associated with them for making this Cargo movement a grant success, during the lockdown period.
